The central government is expected to earn a record equity dividend of 63,056 crore from 67 listed public-sector enterprises (PSUs) for FY23, according to a report.

Coal India is the top dividend payer to the government in FY23 with 13,550.7 crore.

With a contribution of around Rs 18,000 crore for FY23, public-sector banks (PSBs) and financial institutions are anticipated to have the largest proportion of dividends received by the government.

According to Business Standard, this is more than twice as much as the pre-pandemic fiscal year’s payout of Rs 29,049 crore and is 24.7% larger than the dividend of Rs 50,583 crore received in FY22.
